It’s an honor to return to SOS ART 2014 a community art show of creative expressions for peace and justice curated by Saad Ghosn. Included in this exhibition, which features well over 100 artists, is the artwork from the student’s I teach a Mt Washington’s Castle Connections after school program. From personal/domestic issues concerning drugs,bulling and racism to global concerns on war and the environment, the students at Mt Washington created vivid works that express what’s going on in their world and beyond. Founded in 2003 by artist and activist Saad Ghosen the SOS ART has served as a platform for artists to express through their art their sociopolitical views pertaining to peace and justice; reflect on local, national and international issues and create a dialogue between themselves and the viewers. A special thanks to all my students for doing such great work. The exhibition will open Friday May 30th from 6pm – 10 pm at the Art Academy of Cincinnati 1212 Jackson St, downtown OTR Cincinnati. The exhibition will run through June 8th.
